Nutritional therapy is for everyone
Whether you have serious health issues or you are developing less serious symptoms, nutritional therapy can help you get back on track to optimal health. You will be asked to fill out an extensive online health questionnaire to help determine which nutritional route is right for you. During your first session we will perform some simple non-invasive tests on your body, which will narrow down the route even more. Your unique body type and needs are taken into consideration to develop a treatment plan.
What can Nutritional Therapy treat?
Some of the more common conditions are food sensitivities/allergies, seasonal allergies, acid reflux, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, weight loss, infertility and pregnancy related conditions, unresolved pain, fibromyalgia, menstrual/menopausal imbalances, depression and anxiety, and stress related conditions. Please call us if you have any questions regarding your condition and ask to speak to one of our certified nutritional therapists.
What to expect from your nutritional therapy sessions:
After thorough evaluation of your health, combined with some non-invasive tests, a nutritional plan will be developed to get you back to optimal health. Supplements are often recommended, combined with dietary changes. A re-evaluation will be scheduled after your first visit to follow-up with your progress.
What is nutritional therapy?
Nutritional therapy is unique because it's based on a foundational approach to nutrition.
The Foundations
Six Pillars of Optimal Health are based on:
Proper digestion, Blood Sugar Balance, Mineral Balance, Fatty Acid Balance, Hydration
As well as properly prepared, nutrient-dense diet
The philosophy is that the health problems of modern society are the result of poor nutritional foundations that do not support good health. If we fail to address the foundations of our health, we can eat all the right foods but not achieve the goals we want. I offer specific tools for assessing the body's nutritional deficiencies to address the foundations of our health and will teach you how to address your weaknesses through diet, high quality supplements, and lifestyle changes. In addition to our foundational approach, nutritional therapy emphasizes three additional perspectives:
First is the allegiance to the teachings of such pioneering greats as Dr. Weston A. Price and Dr. Francis M. Pottenger, Jr., two of the greatest scientific minds ever to research nutrition, food, and its effects on modern society. Their work is the basis for nutritional therapy's core belief in properly prepared, nutrient-dense whole foods.
- Second is the fundamental belief in bio-individuality; our genetic and geographical makeup can determine our unique nutritional needs.
- Third, we offer a system of evaluative measurements that help identify nutritional weaknesses in the body. The functional evaluation technique allows us to address your nutritional needs, assess your biochemical individuality, and make tailored diet and lifestyle recommendations.
Consider the Hallway of Life...
Perfect health (Birth) |
→ |
Symptoms (Nutritional Therapy) |
→ |
Diagnosis (surgery etc.) |
→ |
Death |
| You can do something about your symptoms, and manage to avoid getting your "diagnosis" later on in life. Don't wait! |
On one end of the hallway is Perfect Health, and on the other end is Death. At birth hopefully we start out close to perfect health, about 1/3 into our lives we start having symptoms like headaches, inability to conceive, sleeping problems, digestive issues, allergies, etc. The doctor will give you something that will suppress the symptoms, but truly these symptoms are a sign that something is going wrong in the foundations of our health (the source of the problems). Then maybe about 2/3 into our lives we get "it." "It" could be any condition, but it's more serious than just symptoms. Aha, now the western doctor can help you with scans, blood tests, etc. to help "diagnose" the disease. Also, he/she will have treatments (surgery, chemo, cumadin, anti-depressants, cholesterol-lowering drugs, etc), which often come with a long list of side effects. These "treatments" rarely treat the cause of the disease, but can keep us from going quickly to the other end of the hallway of life... Death. The nutritional therapist can help you deal with the cause much earlier on, by treating the foundations that keep us healthy and balanced, so we can stay closer to the direction of Perfect Health.
